Friends,
We all know our country is in dire financial straits. Barack Obama has been in office for nearly five years, and not once have he and Congress passed a budget. The President can go on television and proclaim support for a balanced budget, government transparency, and fiscal responsibility, but we all know that will never happen.
Why not? Obama has Republicans he can rely on to enable his out-of-control deficit spending.
In January, Lamar Smith voted in favor of HR 325, proclaiming it was the “final chance” for President Obama and the Senate to deal with America’s budget mess. While Lamar was happy to hand another blank check to the President, both Senator John Cornyn AND Senator Ted Cruz had the good sense to say enough is enough.
Texans should always have each others’ backs. I’m not interested in proclaiming to be fiscally conservative while voting for President Obama’s agenda. Let me be clear, when I’m in the House of Representatives, bills that don’t promote a balanced budget, or increase our national debt, will receive a no vote from me every time.
It is my hope you’ll join me in bringing some honesty to the campaign for CD 21. I’ll see you out on the campaign trail.
God bless,
Matt McCall
